I had an issue with test builds of my GMS1.4 game flagging Windows Defender or other antivirus programs on my playtester's computers. I decided to try upgrading to GMS2 to see if the error occured there, imported my project and was happy to see that it somehow fixed it. I was able to get a stable version of the game submitted to a game jam and I thought that was the end of that. I decided to throw up a build on Itch.io but needed to fix some bugs first (most notably, the pause menu didn't work and crashed the game). After compiling and building as a zipped executable I released the game and got feedback that my game was agian, flagging Windows Defender and and antiviruses again.
I'm kind of at a loss of what to do, I'm not really sure where to begin. Is this a common problem? Any ideas? I know that you can just hit "More info" and run it, it works there but it's not really a solution I want to tell people.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
